We offer exciting programs for all children to learn about God and grow in our faith through worship, songs, drama, and fellowship.

Children actively learn about God through Bible stories, songs, drama, art, outreach projects, and fellowship. Special times and seasons of the Church year will be celebrated with special activities like Christmas Pageant, Lenten Outreach Project and Easter celebration projects. Of course we will be participating in our Parish outreach projects like Dinner for a Dollar, collecting food for the Hamden Food Bank, and Chapel on the Green.

Church school begins in the undercroft (downstairs) of Grace and St. Peter’s at 9:45 am.

Children are vital to Grace and St. Peter's

This area is located in the sanctuary to the left of the altar, and it is available for babies, young children and their caretakers to use during the services. There are toys, children’s books, colouring supplies, children’s chairs and grownup chairs. This area is for those times when the pews just aren’t working for your young child to sit in during worship, but you want to stay IN WORSHIP with your little one. It is an area where children can crawl or walk around and play and wiggle as they see and hear what is going on up at the altar. Children and caretakers are welcome to move back and forth between the Play & Pray area and the pews as needed during the worship services. Children of ALL ages are ALWAYS welcome in worship at Grace & St. Peter’s Church.

The Girls’ Friendly Society (GFS) of the United States of America is part of an international, faith-based organization for girls and women. We are a community serving through Christ and affiliated with the Episcopal Church. We believe in the value of each human being and the richness of a diverse community. GFS welcomes all girls and women of any age, race, religion and nationality.

Girls' Friendly Society of Grace and St. Peter's meets once a month immediately after the 10:00 AM service (at approximately 11:15 AM) until 12:15. All girls ages 5 to 18 are welcome! We  continue using the California Symbol Program, where girls learn about important Christian women throughout the Church's history, the life of Jesus and the practice of prayer. In addition, participants will learn about Christian symbolism such as the fish, cross, and candle, and personal virtues such as honesty and self-awareness.
