Music at Grace and St. Peter's
Affectionately known as "Singers and Ringers", Grace and St. Peter's offers a variety of musical worship for all its members.
Choir
Grace and St. Peter's Church offers an opportunity for all members to join together in music. Throughout the year the Choir performs a musical offering during the 10 am service. The music is engaging, accessible, and inspirational! Each choir opportunity is free-standing, with the rehearsals scheduled one Sunday beforehand after the 10:00 service, and at 9:15 on the Sunday of the choir offering. All are welcome to participate, even if you have not sung in choir before. Our youngest parishioners form the Cherub Choir and perform at select times throughout the year.
Hand Chimes
We have been blessed with two octaves of Schulmerich (“designer”) Hand Chimes, acquired to enlarge participation in our music ministry. Requirements to play the hand chimes are as follows: you must be between the ages of 5 and 105, you must be able to tell your right hand from your left, you must be able to distinguish a notehead on a line from that on a space, and you must be able to count to eight. Although singers are most welcome to play, this inter-generational group will also appeal to those who wish to be part of a musical worship team who are uncomfortable singing in front of others.
