Older Children and Teens at Grace and St. Peter's

All Ages Are Welcome!
Double-Digit Dynamos

On Sunday, April 6, the Double-Digit Dynamos did a fantastic job of presenting the Gospel reading - the story of how Jesus raised his dear friend Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-45) - to the Church during worship. The Double-Digit Dynamos presented this story in the form of a drama, faithfully portraying how the story is told in the Bible. It is a complicated story with a lot of people, a lot of dialogue and movement, and many important details, but this group did a wonderful job of showing the action of this story and the roles of Mary, Martha, Jesus, and all the rest of the people involved. This Gospel presentation helped the congregation to see and experience this familiar Bible story in a new way. Thank you, Double-Digit Dynamos for all the hard work and preparation you put into this!

Now the Double-Digit Dynamos are preparing to lead The Great Vigil of Easter, the most important service of the Church’s year, on Saturday, April 19 at 8:00 PM. This worship service involves a number of Scripture readings that take place in the dark as the Church awaits the Resurrection of Jesus, the defeat of the darkness of death and the return of light to the world, and the gift of new life. The Double-Digit Dynamos are preparing drawings and paintings to illustrate these readings, which will be projected on a screen in the dark as they are being read to the congregation. The Double-Digit Dynamos will also be reading all of these Scripture passages of the Vigil and providing other forms of liturgical leadership in this profound, complex, and very spiritual worship service. Through their leadership, this group of children and teenagers help the entire congregation to experience Easter in a particularly meaningful way and to understand the meaning of Easter with greater depth.
